Definitions\n\nFor the purposes of this Directive, the following definitions shall apply:\\\n**(1)** ‘reporting person’ means a person reporting an actual or potential infringement of Regulation (EU) No 596/2014 to the competent authority;\n**(2)** ‘reported person’ means a person who is accused of having committed, or intending to commit, an infringement of Regulation (EU) No 596/2014 by the reporting person;\n**(3)** ‘report of infringement’ means a report submitted by the reporting person to the competent authority regarding an actual or potential infringement of Regulation (EU) No 596/2014.\n\n**CHAPTER II — PROCEDURES FOR THE RECEIPT OF REPORTS OF INFRINGEMENTS AND THEIR
