The [controller](https://www.headlesslaw.com/definitions/gdpr/controller) shall communicate any rectification or erasure of [personal data](https://www.headlesslaw.com/definitions/gdpr/personal-data) or [restriction of processing](https://www.headlesslaw.com/definitions/gdpr/restriction-of-processing) carried out in accordance with [Article 16](16.md), [Article 17(1)](17.md) and [Article 18](18.md) to each [recipient](https://www.headlesslaw.com/definitions/gdpr/recipient) to whom the personal data have been disclosed, unless this proves impossible or involves disproportionate effort. The controller shall inform the data subject about those recipients if the data subject requests it.
