id=\"art-4\"></a>Article 4 — Term of office\n\n1. <a id=\"art-4-p-1\"></a>Experts shall be appointed as members of the scientific panel for a limited term of two years, with the possibility of renewals.\n\n2. <a id=\"art-4-p-2\"></a>Where an expert resigns or no longer fulfils the conditions set out in Articles 10 and 13 of this Regulation or in Article 339 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, the Commission may dismiss that expert.\n\n3. <a id=\"art-4-p-3\"></a>Where an expert is dismissed during his or her term of office, a replacement for that expert shall be appointed by the Commission for the remainder of the term from the reserve list, or, where necessary, following a call for expression of interest. When appointing a replacement, the Commission shall aim to ensure continuity of expertise, geographic representation and gender balance.\n\n","marks":[],"text_hash":"89bc07bc0d98f5115a4c80fde39b219de64b1d31e8323c74cd383a26ab487ae5","revision":1}}
